Kingdom Come has received a lot of harsh criticism by fans and musicians alike over the years, honestly since the eighties, often referred to as Kingdom Clone because of such similarities to Led Zeppelin. A lot of rumors circulated that they even ripped off old Zeppelin riffs. I myself didn't think too much of Kingdom Come after 1989 but I have to give Lenny Wolf props; he refused to give up on this band and his music no matter what. They returned in 1998 with their self-titled debut that was given a less than luke-warm response but Lenny still carried on.

They are back in 2011 with their brand new release, "Rendered Waters" which features eight classic tracks: "Can't Deny", "The Wind" Should I", "I've Been Trying", "Break Down the Wall", "Pushing Hard", "Seventeen", and "Living Out of Touch". Long-time fans will be able to recognize the classics, but there is definitely a sense of clarity and atmosphere added to them. Eric Foerster, who's been with Lenny since 2000, offers a great presence and shreds on tracks such as "The Wind". New and old fans alike should be pleased.

"Blue Trees" is one of the new songs that hold a great classic rock feel to it but still modern enough to show the direction that Kingdom Come is pursuing. Lenny sounds amazing on "Should I"; his voice blends really well with the music and is strong enough to show that his chops are still in great form. Lenny shows off his screams in "Pushing Hard" but decidedly not as prominent as in the original which brings new insight into the track. "Is it Fair" is another great new song as it is very simple in the musical structure but carries power with Lenny's vocals. The riff is sweet but Eric's solo is intense enough to make it a memorable track. "Don't Remember" is a melodic and strong ballad that delivers a fantastic solo from Eric.

Putting a new spin on some older releases doesn't mean Lenny wants to reflect on the past, and Kingdom Come is ready to show what they can deliver in the present and future. Cynics and reluctants need to give "Rendered Waters" a chance, you will not be disappointed!
