Vicious Rumors is one of those bands who have managed to keep classic heavy metal alive and well. Founded by Geoff Thorpe back in 1979 and having their first album released in 1986, VR have shown they are still going strong. The newest singer, Brian Allen, brings a modern and heavier element to their latest album "Razorback Killers" but still carries that traditional metal scream. While it's still heavy metal, "Razorback Killers" shows that it can be versatile and gets more intense than the previous release "Warball", delivering some modern thrash and hardcore as well.

The opening track "Murderball" is one that shows off some of Allen's harsher vocals while "Black" returns back to the traditional side of metal and shows Geoff Thorpe and Kiyoshi Morgan's incredible guitar skills. "Razorback Blade" takes off at full speed and Allen gives us one those ear-piercing wails that lets fans knows he can step it up while Morgan delivers another monumental solo. "Pearl of Wisdom" slows the pace down a bit while remaining heavy and really shows off some of Allen's vocal abilities, switching back and forth between high screams to low growls.

"Axe to Grind" rises up again with some insane guitar riffs and solos along with Larry Howe's talented drum work while Allen takes this song more into the direction of hardcore. "Let the Garden Burn" gives a great chorus that is strong and vicious with a power metal feel. "Deal with the Devil"

Vicious Rumors have kept the spirit of metal strong and thriving, and while they are willing to progress there is no sense of compromise. "Razorback Killers" is chock-full of in-your-face aggression and ferocity that new and old fans will appreciate!
