VICIOUS RUMORS: Razorback Killers (Album Review)
By Kate Wilcox
Release Date: April 5th, 2011 Review Date: April 4th, 2011 Record Label: SPV/Steamhammer My rating points:
The opening track "Murderball" is one that shows off some of Allen's harsher vocals while "Black" returns back to the traditional side of metal and shows Geoff Thorpe and Kiyoshi Morgan's incredible guitar skills. "Razorback Blade" takes off at full speed and Allen gives us one those ear-piercing wails that lets fans knows he can step it up while Morgan delivers another monumental solo. "Pearl of Wisdom" slows the pace down a bit while remaining heavy and really shows off some of Allen's vocal abilities, switching back and forth between high screams to low growls. "Axe to Grind" rises up again with some insane guitar riffs and solos along with Larry Howe's talented drum work while Allen takes this song more into the direction of hardcore. "Let the Garden Burn" gives a great chorus that is strong and vicious with a power metal feel. "Deal with the Devil" Vicious Rumors have kept the spirit of metal strong and thriving, and while they are willing to progress there is no sense of compromise. "Razorback Killers" is chock-full of in-your-face aggression and ferocity that new and old fans will appreciate! Listen to "Razorback Blade" using our music player!
