With new vocalist Shady Blue (aka Susperia's Athera) in tow, Chrome Division has cranked their latest album, "3rd Round Knockout" that's oozing with sleaze, grit, and dirt. Shady's raw vocals fit perfectly with black and roll, hard rock/heavy metal feel of Chrome Division that's led by Dimmu Borgir's Shagrath. They haven't strayed too far from their normal sound of up-beat tempo with some Motorhead, AC/DC and a little bit of death punk influence. Hey, if it ain't broke, why fix it?

The albums opens up with "Bulldogs Unleashed" and Shady's down and dirty vocals screaming "Your woman will be mine, watch me take her home! Behold what I've become!" How can you argue with that? "7 G Strings" enters with a perfect rock and roll swagger; you can just see the stripper grinding on the pole to this one. "Unholy Roller" is jam-packed with crunching riffs and a killer solo from Ricky Black as Shady sings of booze, chicks and raising hell. "Zombies and Monsters" shows off the fun side of Chrome Division as "Long Distance Call Girl" sounds like something that came straight out of the eighties heavy metal era. They even manage to fit in a respectful cover of country song "Ghost Rider in the Sky".

"3rd Round Knockout" is not an album to be taken seriously but it is a well done album that metalheads from any generation will appreciate. When you pick up this album, immediately put it into your cd player and crank it up to eleven!
