"Crusher", the latest release from D.C grindcore trio Magrudergrind is a prime example of pure, unadulterated grindcore. The EP was released on November 22, 2010 through Scion A/V.

The EP opens with the track "Leech", an in your face, unrelenting brutal assault on your senses. This track is a symphony of brutal riffs, skull-crushing drum work, and intense vocals. The production on this track is incredible as well, with every note ringing through crystal clear; definitely worthy of the grindcore title.

This EP goes far deeper than just one track, but with such a short running time, I feel it best to not be overly descriptive, and hope you will give the album a listen. Overall, Magrudergrind have hit the nail on the head, and created some of the most extreme music I've heard in quite some time. "Crusher" is the perfect example of what grind should be.

Magrudergrind have most definitely brought the good name and glory back to grind, and with so many bands sullying its good name, this album couldn't have come at a better time. Channeling the likes of Napalm Death, Carcass and Terrorizer, Magrudergrind has made their mark on the grindcore genre. I hope to see more from them in the immediate future, and I predict that they will quickly become a highly respected name in the still underground grind scene.
